Crownlands Stud, established in 2011, is a boutique Warmblood Sport Horse Stud situated in Paarl, South Africa. Owned and Managed by Madeleine Davis, Crownlands Stud breeds primarily Golden Warmbloods. We make use of only top international quality stallions, via imported frozen semen, and stallions imported into South Africa. We concerntrate mainly on Hannoverian and Oldenburg bloodlines. We aim to breed quality, modern Sports Horses, with relaxed workable temperaments, excellent movement, and colour.

Our mares are both Warmbloods and Crossbreeeds. Our mares are selected very strictly on type, such as elegance, movement, conformation and temperament. We focus on modern looking, harmonius builds, with correct uphill conformation, a well set neck, strong back, long and straight legs and feminie heads. Our movement requirments are very specific, we try to breed movement with the right balance of freedom of shoulder (length of stride) vs elasticity (lift of stride, or knee action).

Our choice of stallions used is influenced most heavily by temperament. Within the range of top quality performance stallions available to us, we select only those orrigination from lines know for good temperament, such as the Florestan line, Donnerhall line etc.

Thus far our progeny have been bred primarily for dressage, but the purchase of Far Hills Jewel, a stunning kwpn bred future broodmare, marks the exciting beginning of our showjumping breeding programe.
